The COVID-19 Pandemic unarguably has shaken the entire world. strong economies have been made weakened while weaker economies have been brought to their knees. This has caused untold suffering to millions of people all across the globe as people lost loved ones, their jobs, properties, and even their freedom. At a moment, the whole world prayed for a miracle, a scientific breakthrough that will defeat this monster, of course, a vaccine that will help the human body gain immunity against this virus. Then finally came what the world has been waiting for, the light at the end of the tunnel, the greatest scientific achievement on Vaccine-the COVID-19 Vaccine. However, this scientific breakthrough that was to bring a sigh of relief from people all over the world and an applaud for scientific intelligence has been received with mixed feelings and in some nations great resistance. This is largely due to the numerous conspiracy theories and misinformation surrounding the COVID-19 virus propagated all across the media space.

In a bid to provide accurate information on the COVID-19 vaccines and to present the views of public health experts and other stakeholders in order to draft the way forward in addressing vaccine hesitancy, Value Health Africa in collaboration with GAVI and WHO organized a 2-day online international conference on " vaccine hesitancy, conspiracy theories and the way forward" scheduled for the 29th and the 30th of March 2021 at 3 pm Geneva time.3 pm West Africa Time, 5 pm East Africa Time.
