Sexual and Reproductive Health/Rights
Empowering communities through education, advocacy, and care
🧬 Our Mission
At VAHA, we are committed to empowering young women, adolescents, youth, and children to make informed choices about their sexual and reproductive health. We do this by increasing access to accurate health education, quality care, and sustained community support—all in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
💡 Why SRHR Matters
Every person deserves the right to make informed decisions about their health and body. In many communities, especially in under-resourced areas, barriers like misinformation, stigma, and lack of access to services put women and youth at risk. VAHA works to bridge this gap by addressing the root causes and promoting health equity.
💖 Our Core Values
Our Sexual and Reproductive Health program is anchored in three key values:
- Health Rights & Gender Equality
- We believe in the right to health and equality for all, especially women and girls.
- Empowerment Through Education
- We help individuals take control of their health by providing them with knowledge and tools.
- Community-Led Advocacy
- We work hand-in-hand with local leaders and volunteers to make a lasting impact.
🛠️ What We Do
1. Community Sensitization & Awareness
We engage communities through dialogues, media campaigns, and outreach activities to challenge taboos and promote open conversations about SRHR.
2. Capacity Building & Education
Through workshops, school clubs, and peer-led initiatives, we train adolescents and women to become advocates for their reproductive health and rights.
3. Advocacy & Policy Engagement
We partner with policymakers and stakeholders to advocate for inclusive and gender-sensitive health policies that protect and uplift young girls and women.
4. HIV/AIDS Education & Prevention
We conduct testing campaigns, provide counseling, and run awareness programs to reduce stigma and promote responsible health practices.
5. Volunteer Networks & Health Task Forces
We build alliances of local educators and community health volunteers who act as a bridge between healthcare providers and remote communities.
