Free screening at Ntambag Integrated Health Center

Value Health Africa (VAHA) in partnership with Ntambag Integrated Health Center, Old Town Bamenda organized a free screening on #NCDs in the community with an estimated population of over 2000 persons.

 

•  Number screened: 9 men and 44 females = 53
• 60 children aged 5 years to 17 years.=60
• Total= 113

 

• Hypertensive: 06 Male: 0 Female: 6
• Diabetes: 11 Male: 02 Female: 09
• Prédiabétics: 01 Male :0 Female: 1

Amongst the pregnant women screened, 1 was tested with gestational diabetes with a blood sugar level of 346mgdl- awaiting control and follow-up. Children screened: we had 2 female diabetics out of 60 children.

• HIV: 02 (Female: 01 Male: 01)

They were directly linked to the Health center Since its creation VAHA is committed to raising awareness on communication (CDs) and particularly non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Next step VAHA shall organize educative talks on How to prevent Obesity and avoid diabetes. VAHA needs partners to organize a Big sports activity centered around a dietetic workshop.
