WORLD AIDS DAY 2022

 

Celebrated every 1 st of December 2022. VAHA joined the rest of the world in commemoration of World AIDS Day

According to WHO, The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) targets the immune system and weakens people's defense against many infections and some types of cancer that people with healthy immune systems can more easily fight off. There were an estimated 38.4 million [33.9–43.8 million] people living with HIV at the end of 2021, two thirds of whom (25.6 million) are in the WHO African Region.

Value Health Africa joint the World Community to encourages a healthy-heart lifestyle across the planet in executing planned activities such as

• Health education on HIV/AIDS
• Health education on effective use of condoms
• Distribution of condoms

Outcome

Over 500 youths benefited from free condoms distribution and health education.
